District Outback Camp for Scouts - Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th October 2015
Hornchurch district is holding a camp for Scouts during 2nd to 4th October at Thriftwood. There is a cost of £25 per person but this will including Carving, Bush Style Fire Lighting, Climbing, Kayaking and more. You can download the required forms below. Please ensure these are returned by Thursday 10th September.

Chessington Day Trip - Saturday 18th July 2015 (Cubs & Scouts)
We have the tickets and we have the coach booked ready for our day trip to Chessington on Saturday 18th July. If you're coming then please make sure you're at the HQ for 8:45am, the coach will leave promptly at 9:00am. We will leave Chessington at 5pm and plan to be back for 6pm. Please ensure your son has a packed lunch or money to buy lunch as well as water proof clothing for any rain or the wet rides. No uniform required, only 1st Ups scarf and t-shirt.

Hornchurch District Hiking Weekend 20th/21st June
Well done to 1st Upminster's hiking team, Joseph, Matthew, Ben and PL Daniel for completing the hiking weekend in 8th position out of 19 teams. The only groups to beat us were 2nd Elm Park, 1st Harrow Lodge & 1st Cranham.

Gwillcoo Quiz Night - Saturday 25th April 2015
Our lovely fundraisers are organising another quiz night for everyone to be held at Gwillcoo on Saturday 25th April.

IN MEMORIAM
Len Townsend was our Chairman when the “New Hall” was built.
He worked for many years to improve the Groups Buildings Grounds etc.
The facilities we now enjoy at 1st Upminster.
He was a Trustee for the Group until he died aged 93 April 2015.
Our condolences to his sons Raymond Geromy & Gregory, also past members of the Group.

Christmas Fair - Wednesday 10th December 2014
Thank you to everyone that came to the Christmas fair in support of Havering Mind's Child & Adolescent Mentoring Scheme. We had a great turn out and managed to raise £320 for charity. A big thank you to the leaders, parents and the Cubs & Scouts that run the stalls on the evening.

Remembrance Sunday Parade
We had a great turnout for the Remembrance Sunday Parade and the rain stayed away. We also had a chance to take a new group photo which can also be seen on our Facebook page.
Annual Firework Night
Thank you to everyone that came to the firework fundraiser, we raised over £750 which will go towards replacing the fire doors and a new marquee. A big thank you to everyone that came along and especially those they helped to make the evening so successful.
